Mediplacements are recruiting for a Speech & Language Therapist who is looking to work in the London region.

- Experience of caseload management of patients with acquired neurological disorders [this may include student placement experience]
- Experience working as an integral member of a structured team [this may include student placement experience]
- Experience of working with patients with cognitive impairment
- Experience of dysphagia management / Videofluoroscopy.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team using joint goal setting
- Ability to work with patients presenting with communication / swallowing problems of neurological origin
- Ability to form therapeutic relationships with others who may be under stress and have
complex challenging communication difficulties including behavioural and cognitive difficulties.
- Demonstrate empathy with patients, relatives, carers and colleagues ensuring effective communication is achieved particularly where barriers to understanding exist
- Demonstrate highly developed auditory and perceptual skills e.g. phonetic transcription, linguistic and acoustic analysis and be able to use these in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Able to set patient centred and SMART goals.
- Teaching and presentation skills
