Full-Time Scientist, Strain Design
Job Description

Our scientists contribute to the research and development of the next generation of small molecule drugs, biologics and cellular therapies. *Overview* We are seeking a Scientist to join the strain design team, for one of our clients, a protein design and synthetic biology company that leverages their core expertise in structured-based computational protein design, machine learning and high-throughput testing, to design novel proteins and bio-catalytic processes for the sustainable production of performance ingredients and materials. *This is a temporary position for 6 months.* *Responsibilities* * Work with E. coli and Bacillus, Pichia, and potentially filamentous fungi. * Transform DNA into strains and test for protein or molecule production in 96 well microtiter plates and shake flasks. * Design experiments and analyze and interpret data. *Qualifications* * PhD in biological sciences or relevant field. * Experience working with E. coli is essential and skills with Bacillus and Pichia are a plus * Experience with making genome modifications. * Experience with general molecular biology techniques including PCR and assembling DNA fragments using Gibson Assembly * Experience with producing and analyzing proteins by SDS-PAGE is a plus Why Kelly®?
