Salary: Band 7 Equivalent – NJC PO4 £43,356 – £46,392 pro rata
Actual Salary – £38,133 – £40,804
Working Arrangements: Permanent | Term Time | 35 hours per week

We are expanding our therapy team and seek an experienced, well-qualified and dynamic Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist who has the ability to lead and support the development of our excellent provision for young people with autism, severe learning and language and communication difficulties. Our therapy team consists of Speech and Language Therapists and a Multi Disciplinary Team. We will be expanding to include working with music and movement and hope to develop OT assistant roles amongst our Teaching Assistants. We have Sensory Integration Therapy currently in place with our OT’s and we have support from an NHS OT for functional life skills.

This is an exciting opportunity as this role specifically focuses OT time on students aged between 3 and 19. These young people need support to develop meaningful skills that help them access work, learning and leisure activities. We operate as a college provision affiliated with an accredited National Autistic Society School, which has been praised for the creative approach to working with young people with autism and with their carers. The school has won a number of awards including the NASEN Parental Engagement Award.
The successful candidate will work as part of the therapy team at Phoenix to provide advice, supervision and training to the teachers and teaching assistants as well as parents to enable them to support the development of children’s and young people’s functional and sensory needs.
