Part-Time THERAPIST LSW/PC-MRSS
Job Description
Therapist – Mobile Response Stabilization Services
Samaritan Behavioral Health – Preble County
The Therapist is a part of the Mobile Response Stabilization Services where they help children/youth and their families who are experiencing an emotional or behavioral stressor by interrupting immediate crisis and ensuring youth and their families are safe. They aim to provide immediate, short term access (up to 45 — 60 days) to services needed by families with children and youth with behavioral health concerns. MRSS teams are typically deployed through the crisis hotline and respond when requested, usually in under one hour, in order to assist a family in crisis. These mobile locations may be at home, school, court, etc. MRSS can be used at the time that a parent/caregiver identifies that something is different with their child, youth or young adult. Early engagement with youth and families can prevent the escalation of symptoms and allows for more diverse, community based and lower cost interventions. MRSS can be used to divert youth from higher intensity of services such as inpatient care and out of home treatment. The long-term goal is linkage to on- going services, as deemed necessary by the MRSS staff and agreeable by the youth/family. The MRSS Therapist aids to improve outcomes for children, young adults, and families with behavioral health challenges anywhere from ages 0-21.
