Job Description
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to help with our client’s Agile/DevOps transformation programme. You will bring your expertise of cloud-based technologies to the business and play an important role in helping them to move to a modern cloud-based architecture with a true DevOps mindset.
Responsibilities
Build/release our existing management toolset and modernise it to a high performing, automated, CI/CD pipeline(s) as we look to drive quality, stability and performance of our transactional websites while also shortening release cycles and enabling to deliver better value to customers more quickly.
Furthermore:
Help shape future tech state and influence implements new technologies such as Docker, OpenShift, AKS, Node.js, GraphQL and Ansible
Work closely with Agile Scrum teams to implement Agile/DevOps best practices throughout the whole SDLC
Work with SREs to help monitor, troubleshoot, and fix any performance and reliability issues with Live websites
Help to rollout the Agile/DevOps way of working to other parts of the stack such as ERP and all associated integrations
Implement migration from on-prem to cloud-based (Azure) solutions
Requirements
Solid technical experience of building and deploying applications using tools such as Git, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, WCBD, Maven and Ant. Ideally, within a Java Enterprise environment.
In-depth knowledge of Agile, DevOps and CI/CD best practices
Practical experience of working in a Unix/Linux environment including system administration and Scripting – bash, python/python, Perl, yaml and AWK
Deployment/configuration experience with Java application Servers both on-prem and in the cloud (Experience on either IBM WebSphere or Oracle WebLogic is highly sought)
Knowledge of DevOps, infrastructure as a code and provisioning tools such as Ansible and Terraform
Ability solves complex technical problems and find solutions that drive business and customer value
Great communication skills and can use them to build solid relationships with all levels of the business
