CONTEXT
As we move forwards on our journey towards becoming The Factory, we want to bring together a talented team of people, reaching out into every corner of Manchester and harnessing the talent and energy that is found across the city and beyond.
At MIF various pastoral support routes are in place including flexible working and remote working options for all, additional support for those with caring responsibilities, and access to external professional support services with a focus on wellbeing. Flexible working, including part time and job-share options will be considered for all suitable roles.

JOB SUMMARY
To work with the Head of Marketing and Audiences to deliver a radical new approach to delivering audiences to The Factory and Manchester International Festival, that readdresses the balance of power and equity in the arts. To deliver audiences to the Factory that reflect the diversity of Manchester with a focus on those that are currently underserved in our sector. Develop strategies and tactics for individual audience segments working across the team to deliver a co-ordinated approach across the segments that maximises income and attendance to the Factory.

There are two roles available with one having a focus on community and the other with a youth focus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• To take responsibility in planning, coordinating and managing the campaign plans for The Factory events, to effectively meet audience segment and diversity targets
• To work alongside our Creative Engagement team to deliver a creative and co-ordinated approach to targeting audiences that are currently underserved in our sector
• Connect and outreach to multiple communities making connections and contacts that we can maintain and communicate the breadth of the Factory building communities and following for the work that we do
• To monitor and report on ticket sales, free tickets and access tickets to ensure that our tickets are reaching the people we most want to reach and how we are tracking against target
• Communicate with the communities we want to attract working alongside our Young People’s Forum and Neighbourhood Organisers to gain audience feedback, consulting them on message, tactic and design to continually refine and improve our marketing campaigns
• To brief and manage media and creative agencies, and an internal design team, to create compelling campaign messaging and visual to attract our target audiences and segments
• To help maintain and develop the Factory brand and house style across all marketing channels both on and offline, and ensure that all standard information is accurate and up-to-date
• To work closely with the Content Manager, Digital Team and Producers to develop and deliver rich engaging digital content that are audience and channel focuses to accompany marketing campaigns that are specific to our audiences
• Develop partnerships that will maximise our brand and audience ambitions
• To work collaboratively across the marketing team, including setting objectives, income targets and priorities, workload allocation

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL
• Demonstrable experience of marketing and audience development
• Demonstrable experience managing a budget and target setting
• Knowledge and experience of analytics, customer and audience surveys and analysis to determine strategy development
• Experience of box office systems, analysing data and compiling reports
• Commitment to championing representation and inclusion at every level of the organisation with a proven ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds

DESIRABLE
• A strong collaborator and team player
• Excellent communication and networking skills
• To be open to new ideas and new ways of working
• Experience managing relationships with communities, external agencies and suppliers
• Experience of working with sponsorship departments
• Enthusiasm for training, mentoring and support of emerging talent
