Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services is seeking a Staff Cyber Security Engineer to join the Information Security & Cyber Iniatives team supporting the Aeronautics Systems sector located in Melbourne, FL. This position may have the ability to work virtually form a home office on a part time basis, but will require the employee to be local to the Melbourne, FL area. Local candidates are preferred, as no relocation assistance can be provided. The mission will be to defend/protect the company’s networks, systems, data, intellectual property, and personal information wherever it resides. Experience with security engineering is key for this role.
This position performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- PhD with 9 years of Cyber or IT experience; OR a Master’s Degree with 12 years of Cyber or IT experience; OR a Bachelor’s Degree with 14 years of Cyber or IT experience; OR an Associates degree with 16 years of Cyber or IT experience; OR a High School Diploma with 18 years of Cyber or IT experience is required
- Must have a minimum of 7 years of Cyber Security Engineering experience, to include application of cyber security methodologies in an Enterprise environment
- Minimum of 4 years of experience with compliance frameworks and security controls validation, including NIST 800-1711
- Candidates must have a DOD 8570 IAM level 3 security certification (example: CISM, GSLC, or CISSP); OR must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, the certification within 6 months of start date
- Must have experience performing risk assessments of both internally, and externally, hosted solutions
- Candidates must have a current DOD Secret level security clearance (at a minimum) in order to be considered
- Must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, a Top Secret security clearance as a condition of continued employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in an STEM related discipline, a DoD 8570 IAT/IAM Level II or III certification (example: CISSP), and 15 years of experience with Cyber Security Engineering
- Experience with network architecture, OSI model, and networking protocols
- Experience with network security
- Experience in creating and deploying cloud infrastructure solutions
- Knowledge of security operations and tools
- Hands on validation of security control implementation
- Hold one or more of the following technical certifications (or equivalent):
- International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED)
- GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
- GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA)
- GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA)
- GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM)
- Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE)
- OSCP Offensive Security Certified Professional
- CEH Certified Ethical Hacker
- Cloud Certifications
- Institute security engineering concepts that , balance cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis across total systems
- Work collaboratively on multiple concurrent projects with various program and technical stakeholders
- Perform system security analysis activities including requirements analysis, gap analysis, and analysis of alternatives
- Strong presentation and written skills with experience in presenting findings to executive leadership and/or technical teams
- Experience with operating in an Agile/DevOps environment, especially with remote team members
- Extensive experience working with customers to elaborate requirements in often complex/uncertain environments
- A proven track record of designing and developing secure solutions that meet customer requirements
- Current Top Secret clearance would be ideal
